The weather is going to be active this week. First of all, expect some rain late tonight through Tuesday morning. Chances are you'll run into showers on the drive into work or school. The system should move through fairly quickly with brisk winds expected during the afternoon. We may have a few wind gusts up to 30mph. Clearing skies and colder temperatures are in the forecast for Wednesday. Thursday appears mainly dry ahead of our next system. What about that next system???
It looks like we may be dealing with a significant snow producer for the southeast including Alabama. A gulf low will track eastward and spread moisture into the state. This moisture will intereract with a cold air mass and snow is possible. As with any snow forecast in Alabama, there are a lot of variables. This is something we will have to monitor closely in the coming days. But, I would expect at least some snowfall in the area beginning as early as late Thursday night. The system will most likely be a quick mover so the snow should come to an end by Friday afternoon. We'll keep you posted.
