Multi-vehicle wreck delays traffic on I-59

ASHVILLE, AL (WBRC) - A tractor trailer lost control Friday morning on Interstate 59 causing an eight-vehicle wreck. The accident happened on at mile marker 162 in Ashville.
Witnesses say the tractor trailer lost control and then caused a chain reaction causing several cars to crash into each other. The tractor trailer ended up on its side.
Several people were taken to the hospital, but investigators say it does not appear as if the injuries are life threatening.
Only one lane was open most of the morning as crews tried to clear the scene.
