CULLMAN, AL (WBRC) - It is good news for people looking for work in the Cullman area. Cullman Casting Corporation is reopening soon and searching for workers.
Cullman Casting is a metal manufacturing plant that opened in 2006. When the economy took a downturn, it had to close down in 2008. But now that demand has picked back up, Cullman Casting plans to reopen, providing around 120 new jobs.
The positions available range from forming molds, melting and finishing operators, maintenance technicians, even supervisors. The level of experience required varies depending on the position.
It is expected to reopen in late November. The company has even taken out full page advertisements in the Cullman Times to get the word out.
But already, the area is buzzing with excitement over the employment opportunities, hoping it will be an economic - as well as morale - booster.
"I've been laid off for about five months now. And for a job to come this close to where I live, and it be something I'd be interested in, yea I'm very interested in it. This is going to be a great manufacturing plant for the area," said Travis Armstrong, a Hayden resident who is planning to apply.
"I'm really glad that Cullman Casting will be reopening. That's a really good place to fill positions for this city. And it's just going to bring about a lot of good things for this city and our community," said Kenneth Ashley Elliott, a Hanceville resident also planning to apply.
