Congratulations to the 2009-2010 Buffalo Rock Pepsi Star Seniors!
Thank you to all participating schools. As in past years, the judging was extremely challenging. All of the students nominated were “stars." Final nominees were chosen based upon his/her letter of recommendation, essay, transcript and extracurricular activities.
A total of 30 Star Seniors, divided among three divisions (15 in Birmingham, 8 in Gadsden, and 7 in Tuscaloosa) were chosen. FOX6 will contact each school to schedule the taping for the on-air vignette. Buffalo Rock Pepsi Star Seniors will begin airing the week of October 19th and will run through April 2010.
In May, all 30 Star Seniors are invited to attend a luncheon to announce the three Buffalo Rock Pepsi Star Senior scholarship recipients (one chosen from each of the three divisions). The Buffalo Rock Pepsi Star Senior awards luncheon will be held Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Each of the three recipients will receive a monetary gift of $4,000.00 from Buffalo Rock Pepsi/FOX6.

For more than 15 years,
Buffalo Rock Pepsi and FOX6 WBRC-TV have partnered with area high schools to spotlight students that excel in academics, athletics, and/or community involvement. The Buffalo Rock Pepsi Star Senior program was created to recognize high school seniors who serve their community and provide leadership within their school, while maintaining at least a “B” grade average.
