BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A Pinson teenager is now facing two murder charges in connection with a weekend car crash that killed a couple.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says Joseph Alexander Goolsby, 19, of Pinson, is now charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of George Perez, 34, and Yasmine Aguilar, 27, of Fultondale. The two were struck from behind Saturday night while driving on Center Point Parkway. Perez died at the scene, while Aguilar died Sunday after doctors delivered her unborn child.

The baby was reported to be doing well. The couple's other two children, 8 and 11 year were injured but the injuries are not life-threatening according to authorities. Family members are taking care of the children.

Investigators said there was evidence of alcohol and excessive speed. Goolsby was being held in the Jefferson County jail.
