Rick Journey co-anchors FOX6 News Good Day Alabama. Rick has been part of the FOX6 News morning team since 1999.

Rick has focused much of his career on covering politics and the courtroom. He was the first to report the story of the indictments of the last living suspects in the 1963 bombing of Birmingham's 16th Street Baptist Church.

His reporting about confessed serial bomber Eric Rudolph led him through Alabama, western North Carolina and Washington, D.C. Rick is a veteran reporter on election night, breaking the story in 2002 of potential vote tally differences that left the Alabama governor's race too close to call for nearly two weeks. The 2004 Presidential Election led Rick to Washington to cover the Bush-Cheney Headquarters on election night.

Rick first became known to FOX6 viewers in 1992 as the Tuscaloosa Bureau Chief. He sharpened his reporting skills, covering the state capital as Montgomery Bureau Chief. His broadcast journalism career has included time as a radio news and sports director, as well as host of a government and current affairs show on public television.

A Birmingham native, Rick grew up in Tuscaloosa and graduated from the University of Alabama.  Rick lives in Birmingham with his wife, Jennifer, and son, Truman.
