The following is an editorial from FOX6 WBRC-TV General Manager Lou Kirchen, first aired on Tuesday, March 9, 2010:
When Fox 6 switched from analog to digital last year, unfortunately, our radio signal went away. We heard from many of you, who had relied on 87.7 on the radio for news and severe weather coverage.
We began working on a radio partnership that would allow us to provide you news, weather, and sports reports throughout the day.
The Clear Channel Radio Group has become our radio partner. Good Day Alabama from 5 to 6 am and our 10 pm news can be heard on WERC 960 AM, WERC 105.5 FM in Birmingham and in Tuscaloosa on WACT 1450 AM and WRTR 105.9 FM ...with weather updates and sports reports airing throughout the broadcast day on all Clear Channel radio stations.
Severe weather season is here and if a tornado warning develops in Birmingham or Tuscaloosa, JP Dice and the Fox 6 weather team will be on the air across the Clear Channel radio network, providing up to the minute information to help keep you and your family safe.
Soon, thanks to our friends at Cox Radio, JP and the weather team will be providing weather coverage on WBHJ 95.7 JAMZ .
We appreciate having the opportunity to work with our Clear Channel and Cox radio partners. Thank you for your patience as we have worked to put Fox 6 news, weather and sports back on the radio.
