Editorial: Star Seniors

The following is an editorial from FOX6 WBRC-TV General Manager Lou Kirchen, first aired on Tuesday, May 11, 2010:

For the past two decades Fox 6 has teamed up with Buffalo Rock thru a program called Buffalo Rock Star Senior to recognize great students.   Again this year, we held a luncheon in their honor.  The students came from all over the Fox 6 viewing area - from Birmingham and Jefferson County…to Tuscaloosa…to Gadsden.

The three divisional Star Senior winners this year were:

Lindsay Hodgens from Oak Grove High School in Jefferson County

Michael Millender from Clay County High School…and

Caroline Meintzer from Paul W. Bryant High School in Tuscaloosa.

Congratulations to all 30 of the Star Seniors, their parents, mentors and teachers…and thanks also to Buffalo Rock.  Our long partnership with them to honor high achieving students is another example of how good business can also lead to good works.
