Editorial: The Power of Prayer

The following is an editorial from FOX6 WBRC-TV General Manager Lou Kirchen, first aired on Tuesday, June 15, 2010:

Have you ever been desperate and then turned to prayer for relief…for a solution?  When someone you love has been critically ill, have you asked for support from a prayer group?    I have.   If you have, then we both know the power of prayer.

We have a lot to pray about in Alabama these days…we need relief from the oil spill.   We need jobs for our neighbors and friends…enough physicians, in our state, to provide good health care for all of us…prayers, for fair and reasonable tax laws and for a strong and effective education system in all of our state's school districts.

Certainly, we have to work to find solutions to our problems.   However…if, together, we focus our prayers on positive change…for resolution of our concerns;   who knows what good we might accomplish?
