The following is an editorial from FOX6 WBRC-TV General Manager Lou Kirchen, first aired on Tuesday, November 16, 2010:
It's been more than two years since our lives began to be affected by "The Great Recession."…when we began to see more and more empty store fronts. Some of us lost jobs. Some of us didn't, BUT have continued to look over our shoulders.
We've been told…the recession is over. This year, we've seen new stores and shopping centers pop up throughout our region…and the unemployment rate has dropped below 10%. The stock market has been on the rise. All good news!
The question is…do you think you are better off today, than you were two years ago? Let me know.
