Things are not rosy as you claim. Look around. Who's building? Drive around the state. Look at all the manufacturing jobs gone. Look at all the plants closings or laying off people by the droves...

I don't see how it's a whole lot better myself. Maybe a little bit around the holiday. They're always speaking about the middle class people, they forget about the people that's not even middle class that's lower than that....

I am better off, but more importantly, I am a better person. We didn't take the cruise or trip to Europe, but on "staycations" saw newly hatched eagles at Guntersville State Park and more  ducks that could even be imagined at Joe Wheeler State Park. And, who knew that Chelsea roadside wildflowers could rival the Rose Parade.... We found out that a lot of people living right here in Alabama were in really dire straits... and it felt good to dig a lot deeper than we've ever dug before to share both food and money....
