The following is an editorial from FOX6 WBRC-TV General Manager Lou Kirchen, first aired on Tuesday, January 18, 2011:
After a tough stretch of weather last week, the air warmed and the clouds parted in time to allow us to swear -in a new administration in Montgomery. Fox 6 was there asking folks how they felt about the changes at the top of state government. Generally speaking, the responses seemed to be cautiously optimistic.
Lt. Governor Kay Ivey exclaimed that, for a change, this would be an administration where the Governor and Lt. Governor would work together not against each other for the good of Alabama.
With yet another election behind us, we have the opportunity for a new beginning…an opportunity for co-operation among our legislators to address issues like education, taxes, infrastructure and economic development…an opportunity to continue to move Alabama forward.
The inauguration festivities were beautiful. Now it's time for the work to begin…and for the good of Alabama…we wish our new administration well.
