Max Reiss covers Alabama politics for all of Raycom's television stations in the state of Alabama including Birmingham's FOX6 WBRC, Huntsville's WAFF, and Columbus/Phenix City's WTVM. Max is based in Montgomery. Many of his reports feature state department heads, statewide officials, as well as lawmakers from the State House.
Born in New York City, Max made his way to Montgomery after working for the past few years for several news outlets in the Columbia-Jefferson City, MO market. While there Max worked in television for the local NBC affiliate, KOMU. He also worked for the only network owned and operated radio station in Missouri, St. Louis' KMOX-AM (CBS). Max covered the 2008 Democratic National Convention for the New York City Radio Station 1010 WINS. While in Denver he wrote the station's official convention blog and filed video reports as well for 1010wins.com. He's also reported nationally for ABC News Radio. Max's crowning achievement while covering Missouri politics was an investigative radio series revealing a culture of disorganization and miscommunication when it came to the state's water quality at its state-run beaches.
Max graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor's in Radio-Television Journalism as well as minors in political science and classical humanities. While there he was named one of the top 39 graduating seniors by the Mizzou Alumni Association (an homage to Mizzou's founding in 1839). In his spare time Max loves playing golf, attending sporting events, and spending time with friends and family.
