BESSEMER, ALA. (WBRC) - It has been four months since Mississippi State football player Nick Bell unexpectedly died of a rare form of cancer.
Now, his family has set up a foundation in his memory.
The Nick Bell Mentoring Memorial Foundation will seek to pair young participants with people working in different professions. Together, the teams will create strategies to help students balance their academics and extracurricular activities.
Bell was raised in Bessemer and was described as a model student-athlete. His mother, Linda, established the foundation saying her son promised to be a mentor once he completed school. She sees this as a way of allowing his dream to live on.
