Jeff Taylor, the founder of job search website Monster.com, gave the inaugural Stump Lecture in Entrepreneurship at Birmingham Southern College Thursday morning.
Taylor founded Monster.com in 1993, providing an innovative way for job seekers to find employment by using the internet. Since then, Monster.com has become the world's top online career site and sees an average of 30 million visitors each month.
In 2005, Taylor left Monster.com to start Eons.com, a social networking website for the over-50 crowd. In 2008 he launched Tributes.com, a website that partners with funeral homes and provides more than 80 million obituaries. He is currently the CEO of Eons.com and the chairman of Tributes.com.
A gift from two BSC graduates, Kevin and Jane Templeton Stump, helped fund the Stump Lecture in Entrepreneurship.
