The Jefferson County Coroner's office says a Vestavia man was killed on Wednesday morning while cleaning up after storms.
The unidentified man was said to have been standing near his son while his son cut a tree off of a car. A limb from that tree fell on the man's head.
Neighbors say the man did not move again after being struck.
Rescue crews attempted to airlift the victim to a hospital, but he passed away before he could be transported to the helicopter.
