Woman charged with manslaughter for hitting man with car

A 23-year-old woman has been charged with felony manslaughter for hitting a man with her car outside of the Cici's Pizza in Center Point on Saturday. The victim, 46-year-old Randy Colburn of Gardendale, was pinned underneath the vehicle and was pronounced dead after being transported to St. Vincent's East.

Police arrested the driver of the vehicle that struck Colburne, Jessica Lynn Branham, at the scene of the incident. Branham told Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies she had used cocaine just before she hit Colburn with her car.

Witnesses say the victim was walking out of the pizza restaurant with his fiancé and 18-year-old son when he was struck by Branham's car.

Branham is currently free on a $60,000 bond.
