Former Governor Bob Riley says he will be glad to testify in the gambling corruption trial if a judge thinks he knows something.
On Monday, a federal judge ruled Riley may have relevant testimony to offer in the trial. Riley says, if called, he will testify.
"You have to be careful about setting a precedent that the next governor and the next governor and the next governor is going to have to live under, because the rules are set that way for a reason and I don't want to leave that governorship any weaker then what it was then when I took it," said Riley.
A U.S. magistrate judge says Riley and Public Safety Director Chris Murphy should be available to testify in the retrial starting January 30th.
