Kairos Strawberry Kobbler

Kairos Strawberry Kobbler

For the Kobbler:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
4 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
 
For the topping:
2 cups sugar
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups self-rising flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
 
Preheat oven to 350.
 
Melt butter in a large sauce pan. Add strawberries, sugar, & vanilla extract.
 
Mix just until sugar is melted. Spray a 9X12 casserole dish with cooking spray. Pour strawberry mixture evenly into the bottom.
 
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, buttermilk, and flour for the topping. With a spatula pour the mixture evenly over the top of the strawberries.
 
Bake @ 350 until golden brown (45 minutes - 1 hour).
 
Sprinkle with Brown Sugar while still hot.
 
Serve with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, or it is great all by itself. Enjoy!
