WALKER COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

A 24-year-old man hiking through Walker County on his way to Mobile has been reported missing.

The Walker County Sheriff's Department says that Ean Cross Greer last made contact with his family on Sunday evening, Jan. 8. He had been in contact with his mother, Karen Greer, during his hike that began on Thursday, Jan. 5.

On Sunday, Ean Greer called his mother and told her he was in Walker County near a train trestle on I-22. That area is the last known location for Ean Greer and his family members say it is odd for him not to be in touch, said Sgt. Tim Thomas with the Walker County Sheriff's Department.

Greer is described as a white male, 24 years old, 6' 2" tall, weighing 190 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark gray hoodie, khaki pants, black military style boots and had a camouflage back pack, camouflage sleeping bag and blue tarp with him.

Anyone with information about Ean Greer's location is encouraged to contact local authorities or contact Sgt. Tim Thomas at 205-302-6127 or email him at tthomas@walkercosheriff.com.
