First Alex Moore Memorial Fund Scholarship recipient chosen

The first Alex Moore Memorial Fund Scholarship is set to be awarded in May to a senior at Jemison High School.

Alex Moore was 15-years-old when she committed suicide in May of 2010. Friends of Alex's say she was bullied at school.

Jill Moore, Alex's mother wants to give the scholarship to a good student and good citizen. Moore says she wants it to go to a student going to the University of Alabama, which was Alex's favorite team.

Contributions to the scholarship can be made at Regions Bank branches - Alex Moore Memorial Scholarship. They can also be mailed to 3381 County Road 48, Jemison, AL 35085. Checks should be made out to Alex Moore Memorial Scholarship.
