For men she suggests: a watch such as Saks Fifth Avenue's Movado Bold ChronographWatch, neckties, fragrances such as Sephora's The Art of ShavingTM After Shave Balm, or outdoor gear such as Mountain High Outfitters' Black Diamond Storm Headlamp. And for kids, she suggests Mrs. Fields' Valentine's Heart Cookie Cake, clothes like the Janie and Jack Tulle Heart Top, or toys from Toys R Us such as the Record-A-Story "Together at Heart Elmo", or accessories for their phones & gadgets such as Apple's iPad Smart Cover. And don't forget you can take any age Valentine to a romantic dinner or give them a gift card to their favorite shop or shopping center. Select gift cards even benefit local charities, including the American Heart Association.
JEH JEH LIVE - On February 7, the BMA presents The Look of Love: Eye Miniatures from the Skier Collection. This stunning exhibition explores the little- known subject of lover's eyes, hand-painted miniatures of single human eyes set in jewelry and given as tokens of affection or remembrance. In 1785, when the Prince of Wales secretly proposed to Mrs. Maria Fitzherbert with a miniature of his own eye, he inspired an aristocratic fad for exchanging eye portraits mounted in a wide variety of settings including brooches, rings, lockets, and toothpick cases. With 98 examples, the collection of Dr. and Mrs. David A. Skier of Birmingham is the largest in the world. This exhibition offers an unprecedented look at these unusual and intriguing works of art.
