AP CLASSES
- The College Board Announces Advanced Placement® Results for the High School Class of 2011: How does AP Prepare Students for Success in College and Today's Global Economy? The College Board unveiled the Eighth Annual AP® Report to the Nation, highlighting the progress of America's high schools in preparing students for rigorous, college-level coursework.  More students than ever before are participating and succeeding in rigorous Advanced Placement Program® (AP) courses - important because solid performance in AP prepares students for success in college, helps them to graduate on time (which can lead to families saving money) and offers students the skills necessary to compete in today's global economy. Learn how well your state is providing students with access to and preparation for rigorous AP courses. Trevor Packer, senior vice president of Advanced Placement and college readiness and at the College Board, discussed the findings in the 8th Annual AP Report to the Nation.

30 LESSONS FOR LIVING
- We talked with Karl Pillemer, PhD. - founder of the Cornell Institute for Translational Research on Aging, The Legacy Project, and author of 30 Lessons for Living: Tried and True Advice from the Wisest Americans. More than one thousand extraordinary Americans share their stories and the wisdom they have gained on living, loving, and finding happiness. Karl Pillemer has spent the last three decades researching America's elders in an effort to figure out what older people know that the rest of us don't.  His quest led him to interview more than one thousand Americans over the age of sixty-five to seek their counsel on all the big issues - children, marriage, money, career, aging. Their moving stories and uncompromisingly honest answers often surprised him. And he found that he consistently heard advice that pointed to thirty lessons for living.  His pioneering work has gleaned that older is indeed wiser, and his subjects are serving as an extraordinary guide for younger generations going through the exact same chapters of adulthood that they themselves once experienced.
