The Etowah County Sheriff's Office announced tonight that several items stolen from patrol vehicles have been recovered, including several guns.
"We are extremely pleased that tips from the public have helped us solve this case. Our communities are safer because these guns are no longer in the hands of criminals," Sheriff Todd Entrekin said in a statement.
One long gun, two AR15 guns and one bullet-proff vest were discovered today at multiple locations in Etowah County. Two suspects in the thefts have been arrested and deputies are continuing their investigation.
"The investigators and detectives are to be highly commended for their hard work on this case," Sheriff Entrekin says. "This is just another great example of what can be accomplished when law enforcement agencies work together."
The sheriff's office will share more details about the investigation and arrests at a press conference tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Etowah County Sheriff's Office.
