GAS PRICES - Gas prices are expected to climb steadily between now and Memorial Day- reaching 4 dollars a gallon- possibly 5 dollars-a-gallon in some cities. That may have you on a quest to find the best deal.. FOX Consumer Reporter Steve Noviello said you may be wasting your time. Noviello explained that if you're burning gas driving all over town to get a great deal only to buy a $2 bottle of water when you get there you've likely not saved any money at all.  You must consider what the possibility of savings really is.  Maybe pairing errands... servicing you car.. and filling the air in your tires will add up to more saving than actually paying less. Noviello also explained why a credit card that offers cash back may be one of your best bets.  Some offer up to 5% back at a gas station.  That's the equivalent of 17 cents off each 3.50 gallon of gas.  Supermarket club cards are another great way to save money as many pair with gas stations to offer instant savings. And Noviello explained how you can track prices on sites like gasbuddy or the app equivalent.   And while there are not certain times of day when you should buy,  there may be certain times of the week when pricing is best.  For more information, visit www.gasbuddy.com and creditcards.com.
