Man found shot to death in Pinson identified

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating an overnight homicide in Pinson. Officials have identified the victim as Mathew Joshua Hale, 28, of Center Point.

Around 12:30 a.m. Monday, callers reported seeing a man lying on the side of the road in the 4200 block of Sharon Church Road, an area north of Pinson.

Deputies and paramedics arrived to the scene at around 12:40 a.m. and found Hale. He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:03 a.m.
