A memorial will be held today for a young Birmingham father of three who was killed back in March. 28-year-old Victor Cunningham was returning from a party on March 5 when he was shot and killed in his driveway. No suspects have been arrested in the case.
His mother, Veronica Cunningham, mourns not only his loss but the fact that his small children will not get to know their father.
In 2006, Victor's uncle was killed in a hit and run on Warrior Road. That case is also unsolved.
Cunningham's family is determined to keep publicizing his name and story until his mysterious murder is solved.
"Even if it was an accident, come forward and tell us something. It's nothing we can do, we just want justice," said relative Vanetta Mabson.
"This is a very hard situation, so that's why we just want to get it out there. We don't want this case to go cold," said another relative, Shervella Brown.
Today's memorial will be held at 7 p.m. at Cunningham's home located at 921 Garden Street in Birmingham.
