
Charles DeBruce. Source: Birmingham PoliceThe Birmingham Police Department says one man has been charged in a deadly shooting that happened Sunday around 5:30 p.m. in the 100 block of 68th Place North.
Charles Debruce, 33 of Birmingham was also wounded in the shooting. He has been charged with capital murder, attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
Upon arriving at the scene Sunday, officers say they found a male and female suffering from gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported both victims to UAB Hospital. Staff pronounced 63-year-old Willams Evans deceased and the female was treated and released.
Investigators say there was an altercation just before the suspect and male victim exchanged gunfire.
