BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Birmingham Police Department says they have obtained a warrant against a suspect for impersonating a police officer.

On June 26, the suspect allegedly attempted to stop a victim near the campus of Birmingham Southern College. The victim refused to stop and pulled onto the campus next to the BSC Police gate. The suspect told BSC officers that he was a Birmingham police officer, but refused to show identification before leaving the scene.

The suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Bobby Honeycutt. He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
