Birmingham officer arrested for public intoxication

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham Police say that an officer assigned to the West Precinct was arrested this morning for public intoxication.

Sharron Maniaci, 36 of Irondale, was arrested around 7:21 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of 6th Avenue South by officers from the West Precinct. She was off duty at the time.

Maniaci is out on a $500 bond and has been taken off duty pending an administrative investigation. She has served with the police force for over three years.
