Jefferson County's new Chief Financial Officer is expected to hit the ground running. Tuesday, the county commission authorized County Manager Tony Petelos to hire George Tablack as new CFO. Tablack has been an county administrator for 18 years in Ohio.
"I've already told him the first six months he will have do auditing and work with the finance department, to stabilize the finance department. The second thing he will have to do is work with Cooper Green," Petelos said.
Petelos says Tablack will be expected to work on a financial plan for exiting the county's bankruptcy. Tablack should be on the job for the first time at the end of next week.
