Nabeel's® John's Steak

In the 80's I was in Mabula Park, 2 hours away from Johannesburg South Africa,, when I was traveling around the world as an executive that introduced this dish to a number of our invited guests. As a result it was so tasty that everyone wanted me to name this dish, as John's Steak. So, here you are with the recipe. Simple and delicious. Enjoy.

 

Ingredients:

4 New Strip steaks about 8-10 oz. each

8 lemons cut in half

3 teaspoons pepper

1 stick of butter

4 tbsp salt

8 tbsp oregano 

 

Preparation:

Mix the oregano, salt and pepper in a bowl.

Rub each steak on each side well, with the mixture.

Place steaks on hot grill. Turn steaks frequently, (approx. every 2min.)

Once or twice spread some butter over both sides of the steaks. Be sure that you

squeeze lemon thoroughly each time the steaks are turned over.

Grilled steak until meat is cooked to desired temperature, (6-7 minutes on each side for medium rare.)

Remove steaks to a large platter and place all of the squeezed lemons on top of the meat, and serve hot.
