One killed in accident on I-59

The Bessemer Police Department says they are working a fatal wreck on I-59.

According to officers, a traveler lost their luggage on the south bound lanes near exit 104. A motorcycle hit the luggage and the rider was killed when the bike struck an 18-wheeler.

Police at the scene say it happened at 4:45 a.m.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
