BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham's hot food truck scene may soon have some new rules of the road. Today, the city council set a hearing to consider a new set of rules for food trucks and carts.

The new ordinance would set boundaries for how far away from brick and mortar businesses the food trucks will be allowed to set up and how they'll be inspected and regulated.

The hearing is set for Sept. 4.
