BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

An accident involving an 18-wheeler shut down I-65 northbound for at least an hour Wednesday evening between milemarkers 279 and 280 near Kimberly.

State troopers have confirmed that an 18-wheeler went over an overpass. An eyewitness told FOX6 News that when the 18-wheeler went over and hit the ground, it caught on fire.

The interstate has reopened and it appears that traffic is traveling on the shoulder past the wreck site. There are no official reports of injuries but LifeSaver was on the scene.

Rescue crews have confirmed that they have found a body near the scene. Officials have yet to confirm the identity of the body.
