FAIRFIELD, AL (WBRC) -

An 18-year-old suspect wanted for a murder in Fairfield turned himself in to police and is in custody.

Dequien Knight was wanted in connection to the murder of Jimmy Hudson, Jr. The 52-year-old victim was found shot multiple times in the parking lot of a Fairfield mall last week.

Police say they believe robbery was the motive in the fatal shooting.

Fairfield Police Chief Leon Davis, Jr. says Knight was arrested on an outstanding warrant that charges him with murder. He will be transferred into the custody of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
