Here's a list of some of the many back to school bashes and school supply giveaways happening in the FOX6 viewing area. If you would like for us to add your event, email us at newstip@wbrc.com.

Cherry Hill HealthCare Center (Birmingham): The healthcare center will host an "Annual Back to School Health Fair & Carnival" for the local community Saturday, August 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is located at 1250 Jeff Germany Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35214.

The fair will include health screenings, educational information and tours of the center. School supplies will be given to parents of any child who is screened and the center hopes to help 300 children.

First Baptist Church Hayden: Church members will give away the supplies Saturday, August 18 at 9 a.m. at Hayden High School and anyone in the community may ask for supplies. 

The Salvation Army of Blount County: If you would like to receive supplies, you may call SA starting to inquire if you qualify for assistance. Ask for Connie or Melissa at 205-625-4852. They are located at 333 Valley Road in Oneonta.

Trafford Back to School Bash: Local volunteers will give away school supplies starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, August 18 and encourage families to bring blankets and chairs to watch a movie after the giveaway. There is a convenience store across the street where attendees can purchase snacks or they can bring their own. The bash will be on the walking track at Trafford City Hall, located at 9239 East Commercial Avenue.

Fairfield: The local board of education will host a "Back to School Jamboree" for school system students and their families Saturday, August 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fairfield High Prepatory School's Clement Field.

The event will include school supply giveaways and speeches from local officials.

Shelby County: A group of churches will have supplies to give away, free haircuts for school-age boys and hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch. The event will take place at Shelby Iron Works Park Saturday, August 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The park is located at 10268 Shelby County Highway 42, near its internsection with Shelby County Highway 47 about 4.5 miles south of Columbiana.
