
The Shelby County Sheriff's Office says a husband and wife were shot during a robbery on Saturday night. It happened just be 11 p.m. at the Lakes of Inverness apartments.
According to deputies, the couple was shot as they walked from the parking lot to an apartment in the 6600 block of Whitetail Drive. Both victims were treated at the scene by Cahaba Valley Fire and Rescue paramedics before they were taken to a local hospital. Authorities say their injuries were life-threatening, but both are expected to survive.
Investigators say they are treating this as a robbery and suspects have not been identified. The suspects are described as three males in a silver/gray SUV. Two of the suspects had their faces covered during the incident.
