Tropical storm force winds extend 205 miles outward from the center, down from 240 earlier this morning. Tropical storm conditions are expected to reach the northern Gulf coast by late Monday, with hurricane conditions expected Tuesday.
Flooding is expected with this storm along the northern Gulf coast. The National Hurricane Center says water depths could reach six to 12 feet above ground in Alabama, Mississippi, and southeast Louisiana if the peak storm surge occurs during high tide. The Florida Panhandle could see water levels of three to six feet above ground.
Rainfall totals could be up to 18 inches in southern Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and the Florida Panhandle.
