Employees and visitors at Brookwood Medical Center will have the chance to show their support for ovarian cancer research with a teal-colored manicure today. "Mini-manis" in a teal hue are being offered at the hospital for $10 to raise money for the fight against ovarian cancer.
The manicures will be given in the Brookwood Women's Medical Center lobby. The event, dubbed "Color for a Cure," will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5
The Aveda Institute is partnering with Brookwood to provide the manicures, which aren't limited to women. To show their support, Brookwood's CEO Garry Gause, CFO Doug Carter and other male OBGYNS are planning to get a teal manicure today, a spokesperson for the hospital said.
Proceeds from the manicures will benefit the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation. The month of September is recognized as Ovarian Cancer Awareness month.
Fox 6 News Anchor Beth Shelburne will have more on the "Color for a Cure" tonight at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
