Ex-Southern Miss G Page transfers to Gamecocks

COLUMBIA, SC (AP) - Ex-Southern Miss guard LaShay Page has officially transferred to South Carolina.

Gamecocks coach Frank Martin said Monday that Page has joined the team and will be eligible to play this fall. Page is from Dillon, S.C., about two hours from campus. Page is a 6-foot-1 guard who averaged 11.6 points a game last and led the Golden Eagles with 75 3-pointers. He helped Southern Miss to the NCAA tournament last season, losing to Martin's Kansas State club 70-64 in the opening round.

Martin also announced three other newcomers for the Gamecocks this fall in 6-foot-11 Laimonas Chatkevicius, 6-7 Mindaugas Kancinas and 6-5 Michael Carrera.

The Gamecocks roster also includes point guard Bruce Ellington, currently playing receiver for Steve Spurrier's football team.
