ANNISTON, AL (WBRC) -

Anniston's city council has approved a recount of the August 28 city elections. Ralph Bradford, who lost the race for mayor, requested a recount in the race.

Incumbent council member Ben Little and Ward 3 resident Harold Ray both requested a recount of the votes in that race, which Little lost.

Little did not attend today's council meeting, and late this afternoon, he filed a challenge to the election results in addition to requesting the recount.

City officials say the city ordinance on recounts requires people requesting them to put up the cost as a security deposit.
