MOUNDVILLE, AL (WBRC) -

Authorities in Moundville say a man believed to have exposed himself to children was arrested Wednesday.

Officials identify the suspect as Darrin Ray Montgomery, a 44-year-old man from Duncanville in Tuscaloosa County. Montgomery is being held in the Hale County Jail on one charge of enticing a minor.

A concerned mom's tip led cops to Montgomery on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

"Apparently got out of his vehicle naked, didn't have any clothes on and tried approaching my son and his friend," Tiffany Grimes said.

Grimes says her son was playing in the backyard of their Rosewood Lane home when a naked man came towards him. He described a car police were looking for.

This incident is the second time someone spotted a naked man driving around Moundville. Last month, kids at a playground reported that a man driving a white Mitsubishi in tinted windows with a bent fender stepped out of the car wearing no clothes. It allegedly happened at a playground in the Cherokee Bend community of Moundville.

Officers and volunteers patrolled several roads until they spotted the car. Grimes' son identified both Montgomery and his car.

Police surrounded the neighborhood and found the man in his vehicle. Moundville Mayor Joshua Wyatt said the man then confessed Wednesday afternoon.

Police officers hope parents in Moundville will sleep easier with a suspect in custody.

"It's a relief to not only put him in custody, just to have him off the street before he had a chance to do that to another child," Moundville Police Chief Ken Robertson said.

Montgomery is also being questioned about two similar crimes in Centreville. The Centreville police chief says a man approached a girl getting off a school bus and woman at another location the same day kids in that Moundville park spotted a naked man getting out of his car.

According to the Centreville Press,  the suspect in those incidents reportedly drove a white car that had a damaged front bumper.
