16th Street Baptist Church to mark 49th anniversary of its bombing

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Saturday, Sept. 15 marks a somber occassion in Birmingham: the 49th anniversary of the 16th Street Church bombing.

The blast killed four little girls but also marked a change in the Civil Rights struggle. The church will hold a special ceremony to mark the event and the Carlton Reese Memorial Unity Choir will perform Saturday at 10:22 a.m.
