BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Alabama head football coach Nick Saban says he is pleased with how his team played on Saturday in their 52-0 win over Arkansas, but says that there are still many things that need to be worked on.

In Saban's post-game news conference, he stated that he felt his team has been struggling against allowing themselves to "accept average."

"I think we started the game a bit average, but as we got into the game, I was pleased with the way we played," said Saban.

Coach Saban told reporters that he had a tremendous respect for Arkansas and that they had done well in dealing with their injured players. Saban said that he felt the Crimson Tide has played properly on defense, moved the ball well offensively and that they still had some pass protection issues. As expected, the coach said that he felt there were way too many penalties. Overall, he seemed pleased with the progress of the team.

"This group is still learning to motivate themselves..." said Saban. "Hopefully, we'll be able to improve.
