AUBURN, AL (WBRC) -
Auburn football head coach Gene Chizik played it cool during this week's media day, but still made it clear how much he and the team are looking forward to this Saturday's game against LSU.
"I think it's an exciting week for our team. It's great to be able to play a game of this nature back at Jordan-Hare [Stadium]," he said.
Chizik spoke to reporters about the challenges a physical team like LSU can pose to his team. He said the coaches have been focusing on making practices more physical in order to compete with LSU.
"The physicality of our game needs to improve, I don't think that's any secret," Chizik said.
Regardless, it was clear Chizik was looking forward to Saturday.
"[This game] is what college football is about," he said. "The opportunity to have a very good team come in and see how much improvement we've made from the week before."
Kickoff in Auburn is at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 on ESPN.
