JASPER, AL (WBRC) -

Jasper police have made an arrest in a one-year-old murder case.

Kendrick "Kenny T" Evans, 23, of Jasper has been charged with capital murder and attempted murder.

Police say last July, Evans shot and killed Greg "Homie" Johnson at his west Jasper home. Jerrick Mclemore was also injured during that shooting.

Chief Connie Rowe says there were several others at the home when the shooting occurred, including a 14-year-old boy who barely escaped injury. She said this arrest was partly due to community members coming forth with solid leads.

Kendrick Evans remains in the Walker County jail tonight on no bond. He is also facing receiving stolen property and drug charges, not related to the murder case.
