One killed in accident in Shelby County

The Alabama Department of Public Safety says one person was killed in a single vehicle accident on Sunday.

The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on County Road 55. Troopers says 57-year-old Catherine Vanderslice was traveling in a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder when she was fatally injured in the wreck.

Vanderslice was transported by rescue crews to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
