If you drove by Birmingham's Crestwood Park over the weekend, you noticed a big difference. Mayor William Bell and Councilwoman Valerie Abbot were on hand Saturday to help show off the changes. Both acknowledged that the renovation was due in large part to community members demands for updates to the park.
One woman who lives in Crestwood says she loves the new features.
"I've been walking here, walking my dog here, for the past 11 years. The track is so much better. Tennis courts look great. I'm going to try to get my granddaughter into tennis and the playground is great for the little ones. It's just really really nice," said Stella Brittan.
The renovations also included a new press box and updates to the swimming pool.
