Man on tractor killed in vehicle accident

According to the Alabama Department of Public Safety, a man driving a tractor in Cherokee County was struck and killed after being involved in a vehicle accident.

Troopers say 53-year-old Larry Chestnut was driving a New Holland tractor about 4 miles north of Leesburg on AL 273 around 9 p.m. on Monday night when the accident happened. Chestnut was fatally injured when the tractor was struck by a 2004 Buick LeSabre driven by 53-year-old Teresa Daniel.

Chestnut was taken to Cherokee Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
